My ambitions of being a pilot and writer, formed from a very early age. How I achieved both and the adventures and experiences they have brought me.
Views: 31 | Enquiries: 0Hi, I'm 81 years of age and, for 42 of those years, flew as a pilot, the last 22 as Chief Pilot for a helicopter operation in West Africa. But from an early age I also had an ambition to write stories and this was my hobby through my flying years. When I retired from aviation in 2002, I took a job skippering passenger boats on the Norfolk Broads and this inspired my "Jack Fellows" series of murder-mysteries, all set in Broadland. Along the way there have also been a children's fantasy adventure and two aviation thrillers ... plus an unpublished one which led to a strange outcome and got me in an awful lot of trouble!
I offer two talks: the first on my flying and writing life and how they influenced each other, and the second, recalling the adventures, experiences and encounters I enjoyed in Africa ... or at least survived! Each talk is for approximately 45 minutes.
