As software systems grow more complex and development cycles accelerate, securing them has never been more critical. DevSecOps integrates security into every stage of development, and AI is pushing this shift further. From AI-powered threat detection and automated remediation to smarter code scanning and anomaly detection, new tools are helping teams reduce false positives, identify unusual behaviours, and recommend secure code. The result is faster, smarter, and more adaptive security that supports both experienced engineers and those just starting out.

About Jez D

Jez D is an author, speaker, and former Police Sergeant whose powerful memoir, Marked by Difference: A Personal Story of Facing Racism in the UK's Police, Fire Service, and Society, offers a rare and courageous insight into the realities of institutional racism within the UK's public services.

Drawing on over a decade of frontline experience, Jez D recounts their personal journey through the police and fire services, highlighting both the overt and covert barriers faced by Black and minority ethnic professionals. Their book not only shares deeply personal experiences but also challenges readers to confront uncomfortable truths about systemic inequality and the culture of silence that often surrounds it.

In addition to their public service background, Jez D is an accomplished cyber security expert, holding the highest qualifications in cloud computing security. With a degree in IT and a deep understanding of digital risk and resilience, they bring a unique interdisciplinary perspective to their talks - combining lived experience, social analysis, and technical insight.

Fluent in both English and Danish, having spent over a year living in Denmark, Jez D also speaks to issues of cultural identity and integration from a truly international viewpoint.

As a speaker, Jez D is known for their clarity, candour, and ability to foster meaningful dialogue. They are available for talks, panels, and workshops across the UK and Europe, and are particularly passionate about working with organisations seeking to build more inclusive, accountable, and future-facing cultures - both in society and in the digital space.
