This is an extraordinary story of state sponsered murder and revenge. In 1978 Bulgarian journalist Georghi Markov was assassinated on Waterloo Bridge with a microscopic pellet containing the deadly toxin Ricin, fired from a modified umbrella supplied by the KGB. With the Cold War raging Markov was a thorn in the side of the Bulgarian Prime Minister Todor Zhivkov. We recall the tragic events that shocked the world over 47 years ago.
