This is an extraordinary story of state sponsered murder and revenge. In 1978 Bulgarian journalist Georghi Markov was assassinated on Waterloo Bridge with a microscopic pellet containing the deadly toxin Ricin, fired from a modified umbrella supplied by the KGB. With the Cold War raging Markov was a thorn in the side of the Bulgarian Prime Minister Todor Zhivkov. We recall the tragic events that shocked the world over 47 years ago. We look at the deadly poison Ricin and examine the evidence against the main suspect for the assassination. 45 mins.
