I have been fortunate as I entered farming after being involved in the family's small holding and have farmed up to 500 milking cows on hundreds of acres with the same appreciation and devotion to animals and the land as I had then. For various reasons I have learned to farm from the soil up. Using the knowledge the soil imparts to show us how to manage it through observations and analysis.
I have recently been involved in Lloyds Bank carbon footprinting farms as well helping my own clients achieve a better farming method while reducing costs. I talk about the soil, composts and soil husbandry so applicable to gardening clubs also.

I got the farming bug from working on the family's small holding then after agricultural college I ran the pig farm, while lambing and relief milking. I later milked on Salisbury Plain and Progressed up to managing 500 dairy cows in Dorset and Hampshire. later I also farmed in the Cotswolds on a mixed organic farm I went back to Ag college to teach after covid and gained a teaching qualification. With my own consulting business I go around the country talking to farmers and suggest best methods of natural farming. While also working with Lloyds bank carbon footprinting farms and looking at environmental schemes
