Many people feel that our moral values will have to change with technological change. Is this true? Terms like 'posthuman' and 'transhumanism' now feature in discussions of ethics - together with those who say that any talk of ethics or morals is now outdated. I'll give a personal view of how ethics might need to change in a world where humans have to live with Artificial Intelligence and the possibility of people being 'cognitively enhanced'.

Recently retired from full time lecturing at Sussex University, he is still a regular speaker in academic, commercial, military, and community settings as well as having participated in several high impact science/art collaborations. He has published many papers on a wide range of subjects and three books on the impacts of AI. A lifelong tram enthusiast and a pilot since 1972, he also speaks regularly on aviation and transport history.
