This talk is an amazing tale: the story of a WW2 kiwi pilot who flew for the RAF for the whole of the war: Jim Hayter DFC and Bar. It is such a fabulous story I am keen to present it and will not charge a fee, though if travel is quite a distance, I may ask a little for travel expenses. Jim was shot down over the Weald where I live. After much of research, including meeting his niece in NZ, I found that his story was amazing. He was a survivor and I tell the tale of his career including him cheating death 19 times through crashes, shoot-ups and an amazing escape. I present this with a fully illustrated power point presentation. I think that you will be astonished at his story.

I always like to add humour to my talks as I did in my lessons on the basis: if I enjoy it, the audience will. I have always loved aeroplanes which led me to become an Officer in charge of CCF RAF cadets for a total of 33 years and when I retired aged 65, I got a private pilot’s licence. Inspired by an amazingly interesting display in a wonderful air museum in New Zealand I did much research into a Kiwi pilot who, having been shot down, parachuted into my own town (Cranbrook). This led to my very successful Talk.
