My talk describes the weird and wonderful life of a press photographer in Blackpool, which ranged from having to land a Cessna while the pilot looked for his beta blockers to climbing into a rattlesnake's cage, from being taken off Nick Faldo's Christmas card list to telling the prime minister how to hold his stick of rock, and from partying with Status Quo to ruining a seven-star hotel's reputation. I show a selection of my photos during the talk to help illustrate these tales.

About Robert Lock

I was a professional newspaper photographer for over thirty years, twenty five of which were based in and around Blackpool, and it this period that my talk is based on. I also finally achieved a lifelong ambition in 2018 when my first novel Murmuration was published, which was also inspired by Blackpool and the people I met through my work there. I am now retired from the newspaper industry and have returned to my native South Yorkshire, where I write and produce a variety of art and landscape photography
