In the UK alone, there are reported to be 150,000 leadership consultants and over 50,000 books on leadership on Amazon yet customer satisfaction in the UK is at its lowest since 2010. Meanwhile, Gallup's latest report reveals an alarming 85% of employees are disengaged at work.

The root of this crisis? Could it be an obsessive focus on leadership while neglecting the crucial role of followership. Michelle challenges this imbalance head-on.

Do you know anyone who has opted out of a leadership role because they prefer to follow instead? Following isn’t just a fallback; it’s a strategic choice, a finely honed skill.

Michelle offers a profound shift in perspective. Her mantra, "listen and learn," empowers leaders to unlock their teams’ latent potential. The outcome? Soaring productivity and organisational triumph.

About Michelle Howard

Nominated as an Agent for Change with the global ‘She Inspires’ foundation, a local hero and business consultant of the year, leadership and marketing expert Michelle Howard is an energetic speaker who addresses audiences, large and small, about the most pressing issues affecting businesses today, but with a spin – mobilising people for the brand.

Whether presenting in person or virtually, Michelle engages, educates, entertains, and delivers real-world solutions applicable to any sector. Known for inspiring people to achieve more than they ever thought possible, she brings insights that are informative and actionable. Event planners love working with her for her warmth, and commitment to bring insight to audiences.

Michelle, known for her creativity and innovation, was one of the first Chartered Marketer accredited Marketing Managers in the professional services sector, working for a Legal 500 company. She worked her way from marketing manager in the private sector to earn her seat at the strategic leadership table in the public sector.

Michelle managed a diverse complement of employees across multiple locations and disciplines at an early age. She was one of the few non-teaching staff awarded a National Qualification for Headship, and was part of a management team that transformed a failing school into a successful school in a federation, later recognised as a pilot for the Academy Model we see today. She was named by multiple government agencies as creating, not following, best practice and led a team to win a National Healthcare Innovation Partnership award during an era when collaborative working was little more than a dream.

Now a podcast host for the NHS exploring leadership, Michelle is regularly asked to speak for The Law Society, The Institute of Chartered Accountants, Barclays Bank, Jersey Business, and others. She brings eight degrees, is completing her MBA and has a depth of expertise at a leadership level. Her career spans legal, professional services, higher, secondary, primary education, and healthcare, demonstrating that her insights are actionable across various sectors.
