In this talk on The Funny Side of Being in Human Resources and Training, I take a light hearted look at the unique and often amusing experiences that come with working in HR.

Human Resources is often seen as a serious, buttoned-up profession, but those who work in HR know that it’s also filled with moments of humour, surprise, and the unexpected. From bizarre interview responses and unusual employee requests to the sometimes-quirky company policies, the world of HR is full of stories that can make you laugh out loud.

I explore how humour can be a powerful tool in the HR profession—helping to diffuse tense situations, build rapport, and create a positive workplace culture. By sharing funny anecdotes and insights, I highlight the human side of HR, reminding us that, while the work is important, it’s also important to find joy and laughter in the day-to-day.

This talk will leave you with a smile, a few good laughs, and a fresh perspective on how humour can play a role in making the workplace a better, more enjoyable place for everyone.
