Henrietta Howard went through very difficult periods in her life. She was left homeless and an orphan early on in life. She wed Charles Howard, son of the Earl of Suffolk. This was a lonely and terrible union. Charles tormented her, abused her, and fritterd their money away on women and drink. They both entered the Georgian Court, giving Henrietta the chance to have space away from the clutches of her husband. She became the Prince of Wales, the future George ll, mistress. he gave her a generous allowance but after some years grew tired of her. She was able to have Marble Hill built in Twickenham, where she eventually lived. When her husband dies she at last found happiness late in life with George Berkeley. She is buried at Berkeley Castle, alongside her second husband.

I have researched various subjects including a local medieval Manor House where I am a volunteer guide. I have also researched the details about the Russell family who lived there and who now live at Woburn Abbey. I have researched the plague cottages/pestilence houses over many years and give PowerPoint presentations about them. They were used for isolation purposes from the fifteenth century and I link their use with public health issues today. I have a book published about the plague cottages and the history of medicine. I am a guide at Kensington Palace. I have a talk about the Palace. My most recent talk is about Georgina, Duchess of Devonshire, who was a real Georgian influencer.
