Based on my book "And you visited me" (Amazon). Since 1984 I have been a prison visitor, and for 30 years, have travelled to USA to see men on Death Row. I have forged many friendships and have many items such as photos, artwork, writings and craftwork done by inmates. This is NOT a dreary talk, as I have many amusing and amazing stories about my exploits!

About Penny Wheat

I have been a public speaker for around 20 years. All my talks are amusing, lively and lavishly illustrated.

I worked as a college lecturer, teaching silversmithing and jewellery for 36 years, until my retirement ten years ago and am a published author.

I sing in a 300 strong choir, belong to a writing and a poetry group and am a house group leader and pastoral care team member at my local church.

My passions include cricket, gardening, music, current affairs, researching family history, singing, literature and live theatre. I am a volunteer in the chaplaincy team at my local prison.
