He has worked on stage adaptations of Steptoe and Son, Hancock’s Half Hour, Ripping Yarns, and Porridge, collaborating with the original writers on several productions. David also co-wrote ’Allo ’Allo 2: The Camembert Caper—the official sequel to the original stage play, represented by Concord Theatricals of London.
As an actor, David has appeared in a wide range of roles, from Shakespeare to light comedy. He is currently performing as Alfred P. Doolittle in My Fair Lady at Sharnbrook Mill Theatre (11th–16th May 2026).
Beyond theatre, David has an active interest in politics—though he supports no party—and even contributed humorous policy ideas to the Official Monster Raving Loony Party. Drawing on his fascination with British political scandals, he also offers a lively and entertaining talk on the lighter side of UK politics.
David is the Artistic Director of The Arches Theatre, an open-air venue near Milton Keynes, where he continues to produce and perform in comedy, drama, and music each summer.
