This talk looks at the Great Exhibition of 1851and the inventions of the Victorians. I present it as if I was a Victorian and had been to the exhibition, so I tell you about the experience - the crowds, the atmosphere and some of my favourite exhibits. I have used original source materials - illustrations made at the time, photographs, newspaper reports and Queen Victoria's diary to take the modern visitor back in time and present the 'Greatest wonder of the world' from a Victorian perspective.
