A poor diet can contribute to many issues: frailty, infections, falls, low mood, poor eyesight plus others. As we age our appetite can become low for many reasons and if this happens it is vital that almost everything we eat is highly nutritious, appealing to the eye and delicious. I was a teacher for 25 years then took time out to care for my elderly father. After he died I became a qualified Dementia Carer and End of Life Doula. During this time I became very aware of the lack of nutritional information for the over 65s despite the dangers of a poor diet as we age. In the last 2 years I’ve created Grandbar Snacks which have been shortlisted for The Great British Food Awards and I am in the final for Women’s Business Awards. More recently I have achieved a Level 5 qualification in Nutrition and am writing a book on Creative Senior Nutrition.
