We usually learn about history through facts that are presented in books and articles. My talk tells the story of my parents' childhood and teenage years in Nazi Germany, complete with their personal experiences and memories through what was a very formative period of their lives. You will hear about their resilience, wit, trauma, doubts and fears. It is a story which is regretfully being relived in similar ways in Europe today. The talk is delivered as a PowerPoint presentation with short clips, sound effects and photos, both from the family album and historical sources. Duration about 1 hour.
