It - the Climate Emergency - is and has been with us for a while. We all need to do what we can to both mitigate and adapt to climate change. After covering, briefly, what Climate Change actually means for our gardens this talk will look at ways we can use our gardens to guard and support local biodiversity. It will then cover adaptation methods to cope with the changes that are coming. Tips are given on how to nurture a more healthy and resiliant garden.

About Lucy Hartley

Lucy Hartley began her professional life as a secondary school science teacher and taught for seven years before starting a family. Lucy's mother is a keen gardener, as was her grandmother and Lucy has followed in their footsteps. She has always enjoyed art as a hobby. On returning to work Lucy chose to combine these interests and re-train as a garden designer. She has been Designing and Rejuvenating gardens since 2006 and giving Talks to Gardening Clubs since 2016. Listening to International and local news about the Ecological and Biological Crisis due to pollution and Climate Change, Lucy's focus is very much on wildlife and net gain makeovers. This also means that she will no longer travel by car over 45mins from her location in Wellesbourne to do an in-person Talk. Talks to anywhere can still be done remotely if the Club is able to set this up. Please check the Lucy Hartley Gardens website for more information on Lucy's Environmental Policy.
