Alice Wheeldon of Derby was at the centre of a political storm of feminism, socialism and pacifism during the First World War. Accused by government spies of plotting to murder the Prime Minister, David Lloyd George was she innocent or guilty of a planned poison attack. Alternatively, was the establishment guilty of an even greater conspiracy?
