Throughout history one has seen amazing women making their mark ; the Byzantine Empress Zoe, Cleopatra, Boudicca, Florence Nightingale, Emmeline Pankhurst, Amelia Earhart, Mother Teresa, Evita, Valentina Tereshkova – to name but a few, but others that have had their identities omitted, withdrawn or played down such as Mary Seacole or Mary Magdalene.
I was drawn to three women all sharing the same name, Catherine.
I have chosen one, a modern woman , an icon in entertainment for 60 years and a trail blazer for her forward thinking, whilst the other two, both queens, made their names great in countries different from their original place of birth and both earning huge respect from their subjects.
