In 2019, aged 54, she was the first woman to stand up paddleboard coast to coast from Liverpool to Goole along the Leeds Liverpool Canal. Jo was raising money for the surf therapy charity, The Wave Project and the 2MinuteBeachClean Foundation. She was also picking up litter and raising awareness of plastic pollution in our inland waterways and how we each can make a difference.
