With the aid of slides and readings Father Martin intrigues audiences with fascinating yet little known facts such as that of Sir Thomas one of the most powerful men in England, a man who in the dark days of King John nearly changed English history forever haunts the banks of the nearby River Tame with other family members, "Bewailing and bemoaning’ their fate. "
Near the famous Spaghetti Junction lies a once a fine Victorian house which haunted by a young woman who committed suicide in 1911 and till recently her footsteps were still heard on the stairs of the house and her presence felt in the abandoned garden.
There are many more including the haunted phone box, haunted by a mysterious distressed caller in 1940’s dress. Who was she and why does she keep returning to the phone box to make a call?
He tells of the most haunted house in the Midlands a once a fine red bricked Jacobean hall called, ‘The House of Thirteen Gables’ and was home to Lady Bagot who seems to have died in mysterious circumstances. I graduated from the University of London with degree and post graduate certificate in English and Drama and then returned to the Midlands where my career began.
I have been writing, performing and giving presentations throughout the West Midlands to a plethora of clubs and societies including the W, Rotary, University of the Third Age and for Birmingham's library services. I have given after dinner speeches to wide ranging audiences.
As well as being a writer, author and performer I am a lover of France and spend many happy days in my little cottage with my family in Brittany. I am also very keen on sports and trained as a football association coach and referee. I am an ongoing love affair with my local team, Aston Villa which at times isn't as joyful as it could be!
