Having a good employer brand builds value into your business and generates revenue through the retention of both team members and customers.

For nearly 20 years, I have operated in and around the talent universe as someone who has hired people, fired people and helped other people literally hire hundreds of others. I think it’s fair to say that I have seen the good, the bad and the downright ugly in operation. Don’t even for a minute think that global professional service firms or blue-chip companies are a paragon of virtue when compared to struggling start-ups. I have found that organisations – both large and small – have some excellent as well as diabolical processes. Even more shocking are the millions that firms waste money on obtaining talent through inefficient process, over-complicated interview schedules and duplication.

Cheaper than recruiting people is retaining people, and retention starts at recruitment. Recruitment is the start of your new employee’s journey with you. It sets the initial tone of the relationship, forms their initial impression of you and determines whether they would recommend you as an employer to their peers (potentially the cheapest form of recruitment).

Recruitment is one pillar of creating or "Fuelling Your Employer Brand" My book Fuel your Employer Brand is now available on Amazon and covers this and many other aspects of Employer Brand
