Details of talks given by John Handby
John has spent many years spearheading major technology related change programmes in Government and then as a director in the private sector; has worked as the Chief Executive of a technology futures company and acted as advisor to the Boards of various large companies and organisations. He lived through the dot.com era, has sat on the Boards of high tech start-ups and mentored widely in the technology sector.
He is a Fellow and former Council member of the British Computer Society, a liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists and a Fellow of the RSA.
His major interest is now in the dramatic developments taking place in the field of artificial intelligence and the implications for society, and indeed the future of the human race. His talk ranges broadly over the issues we now face and what we need to do to cope with the tsunami of change about to overwhelm us.
