Details of talks given by Nikita Thakrar
Nikita Thakrar is a TEDx speaker, author and identity and purpose mentor, and the creator of the Journey from Karma to Dharma® body of work. She works with accomplished, thoughtful people whose lives look successful from the outside, but who sense that the identity that built that success no longer reflects who they have become.
Her perspective comes from lived experience. For more than twenty years, Nikita led an award-winning dance school, guiding thousands of students through movement, performance and personal expression. Alongside this, she spent a decade immersed in Kathak, yoga and spiritual study in India. Her own life has been shaped by three identity thresholds: legally changing her name as a teenager, living with a rare autoimmune condition, and choosing to close her physical studio and gift the school she had spent two decades building.
In 2026, Nikita gave her first TEDx talk at TEDxTruro, Dance with Your Dharma: Creativity as the Bridge from Chaos to Clarity. She speaks on identity and reinvention, purpose, creativity, conscious leadership and wellbeing. Her talks blend storytelling, ancient wisdom, movement and practical reflection, giving audiences an experience rather than simply information.
Nikita is the author of Meditation Through Poetry. Her new book, Journey from Karma to Dharma®: The Bridge from Inherited Patterns to Conscious Purpose, is published in January 2027. She also hosts the Journey from Karma to Dharma podcast, where her guests have included Denise Duffield-Thomas and Emma Mumford.
She speaks to corporate, education and community audiences, both in person and online.
