Biography:

Cathy Price, a Personal Trainer from Lancashire has visited EVERY pub in Britain called THE RED LION. The Quest started as she sat in a pub in the Lake district where a sign pointed out that this was the most common name for a pub in the UK.

Curiosity kicked in and on a journey of 656 Red Lions, 5 years and 90,000 miles she visited every single pub with that name from the very worst to the most magical, from the Scottish Highlands to the beaches of Cornwall.

National and Worldwide Press followed her throughout sending journalists to each milestone Red Lion and interviewing her on TV and Radio.

The’ All Party Parliamentary Beer and Pub Group’ invited her to Westminster on many occasions making her a mascot for raising the profile of the British Pub which was suffering a horrendously high number of closures having a devastating effect on the community.

She received a letter of thanks from the Prime Minister once the Quest was complete.

Cathy published a book ‘THE RED LIONESS’ which captures the essence of everything British and quirky from the writing dens of Enid Blyton, and James Bond to Rock n Roll , Births, Ghosts and Murders- everything revolved around the local pub. Often hundreds of years old, some started out as the local morgue or police station, or housed workers building the local Church. Many were coaching Inns on the A roads out of London playing an important role in the transportation of people, prisoners, goods and Royal mail.

Cathy now visits as many Red Lion pubs around the World as she can find on her travels, all imitating the cosy British Pub.
