Biography:

Emily Faircloth has over 27 years of NHS clinical and commissioning experience, with specialty experience in forensic radiography.

Her skillset is the physical and psychological impact of trauma, personal resilience and recovery. Her passion is early intervention mental health and wellbeing support, enabling children and families to thrive. She has been a commissioner of mental health services for 15 years, across mental health & urgent care/crisis pathways (co-ordinating the Devon Crisis Care Concordat), Adult Secure services (co-creating reform of virtual oversight procedures during NHSE’s COVID-19 response), all-age Autism strategy and specialised services (enabling recovery of access to Specialised Children & Young People’s Mental Health services following post pandemic surge demand).

Emily also specialises in forensic & medicolegal aspects of radiography including the identification of the dead. She has participated in regional, national and international response teams such the NHS Nightingale COVID facility in Exeter (2020/21), the London Olympics (2012), London 7/7 Terrorist Bombings (2005), Indian Ocean Tsunami (2004), Morecombe Bay cockle pickers tragedy (2004), and for the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Crimes against the Former Yugoslavia, in Kosovo / Bosnia (2001/2).

In 2005, she co-founded the International Association of Forensic Radiographers & continues to develop training and shared learning through authoring, editing and peer-reviewing published articles, national policy development, national E-Learning for Health content and invited contributions to Brogdon’s Forensic Radiology (2nd Edition) and Thompson & Black’s Forensic Human Identification. She is a Bond Solon trained expert witness in radiography practice and provides expert opinion in clinical negligence cases.
