Details of talks given by Ken Arthur
Birds, Science, People.
Three elements of the work of The British Trust for Ornithology (BTO).
BTO has been working since 1930 to secure a better future for birds and nature by using our science, monitoring and data to inform good environmental decisions. Garden BirdWatch is one such project that has been running since 1995
I have spent my adult life working as a healthcare and research scientist, and have a life-long interest in many aspects of nature and the natural world. I started taking part in Garden BirdWatch in 2021 and from the beginning, it has been an enjoyable and satisfying part of my life., I would encourage anyone who loves nature and has even a little spare time each week to take part.
I have recently been appointed as BTO Ambassador for Garden BirdWatch for County Down in Northern Ireland and am based in North Down. In the absence of an ambassador for County Antrim, (currently) I am also willing to visit in the Greater Belfast and South Antrim area (and will consider farther afield for special events elsewhere in N.I with sufficient notice).
