Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) operates and funds three air ambulances and a fleet of critical cars covering six Midlands counties including Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, West Midlands and Worcestershire.

Shropshire is home to the oldest of our three airbases, RAF Cosford, which houses our largest wholly-owned air ambulance, the H145. This was purchased in February 2018, and allows the crew to fly further for longer, and can carry a passenger, for example a parent if a child is being airlifted.

It has also been selected as the location of choice for our new airbase and charity headquarters.
