About Christopher Conlan

'Ello Guvnor! Christopher Conlan is the Pearly King of Bromley and also the Town Crier of Sevenoaks. Oyez, Oyez, Oyez!

After struggling with Dyslexia throughout his life, he used the lockdown period in 2020 to seek out the two aforementioned roles and become a community ambassador. He wanted to bring people together, raise money for charity and keep two ancient British traditions alive for future generations.

He was born in, and has always been a resident of, the London borough of Bromley and is highly passionate about supporting local causes. Being the first ever Pearly King of Bromley has allowed him to have a greater role in the community and promote his incredible borough far and wide.

He is passionate, enthusiastic and loves a bit of British humour, and brings all of these attributes to his talks. Also, he has been nominated for and won multiple awards including the British Citizen award, The BBC Make a Difference Award, The Dyslexia Award for Community Champion, The Freedom of London and The Bromley Mayor's Award.

"We were absolutely blown away by your talk. By far you've been one of the best we ever had. Everybody loved having you at our meeting and enjoyed your talk. It was very informative and funny in places" Cheryl Hethersay, Raynes Park WI
