Where people were leaving James was arriving! Whilst working in Bosnia James won a BAFTA, RTS & Emmy Award for ‘The Concentration Camps of Bosnia’ in 1994. But life for James was not all about conflict as having spent a lot of time recording Nelson Mandela, he was one of the first to congratulate him as President…a truly memorable occasion. Page 2 On the 11th September 2001 James was on his way to the White House, when news came in that an aircraft had flown into the World Trade Centre. Following his retirement James followed his passion for researching history of world wars. Using his extensive broadcasting skills, he has created fascinating talks presenting little known facts from major events using file video, interviews and graphics to bring history alive. James has also collected many fascinating anecdotes over decades of broadcasting from Independent Television News, ITN, in the UK. These behind the scenes and entertaining talks are full of original footage, including some stories from his father, a former head of ITN.
