I give these talks for enjoyment (mine and yours I hope!). I've been a professional seminar presenter for many years, but now that I'm retired, I focus on my creative writing - novels and short stories, mostly based in the Lake District. Currently, my most popular talk combines themes from my recent novel, 'The Leaf Slide' with the work of singer/songwriters like Jake Thackray, Bob Dylan and Tom Paxton. A simple setup. If you'll allow me display a few of my books, I'd require a table. That apart, nothing except a chair for me and an audience that I hope might be interested in getting to know my main character, Detective Chief Inspector Max Wordsworth. I've also set out below some more serious options - workshops and talks that reflect my work as a management consultant. I love the opportunity to share ideas with people. For over thirty years, this was how I made my living - working as a management consultant and presenting face to face seminars, courses, conferences and workshops, including events with hundreds of delegates.
In all, I delivered over two thousand events in more than thirty countries.
I loved working with challenging delegates from different backgrounds and cultures.

I was a founder member of the UK Professional Speakers' Association, a member of various professional organisations and, as well as other qualifications I have a master's degree in Theatre Arts.
I retired from travelling after a climbing accident, and my local talks compensate in part for the excitement I miss.
Now I write novels, short stories and plays, and I produce online business webinars for different websites. My books are available on Amazon in various formats, and I've also recorded my own work, and that of over a dozen authors, for Amazon Audible.
I enjoy playing the acoustic guitar and currently, my most popular talk is a light-hearted combination of extracts from one of my Lake District novels coupled with songs from my favourite singer/songwriters, for example, Bob Dylan, Jake Thackray and Tom Paxton..
On a more serious level, I'm happy to offer bespoke talks/workshops on a wide range of more demanding soft skills areas. One hour talks or exploratory workshops on any of these themes and more - just ask!
