I now give these talks primarily for personal enjoyment (mine and yours, I hope!). I've been a professional seminar presenter for many years, and having retired, I'm now focused on my writing - novels, short stories and plays, mostly based in the English Lake District.
However, I do enjoy meeting and working with people, and these talks give me the opportunity to continue doing what I love.
Currently, my most popular offering combines themes from my recent novel, 'The Leaf Slide' and the work of singer/songwriters like Jake Thackray, Bob Dylan and Tom Paxton.
For this event, I bring my guitar along with me, and I work with a very simple setup - a chair for me and an audience that you provide - that's all!
I'll introduce you to my main character, Detective Chief Inspector Max Wordsworth, 'the reluctant Lakeland detective'. and I'll sing some songs to embellish the main themes of Max's story.
As I mentioned in the title, I'm also happy to offer many other personal development talks and workshops. These topics reflect my professional expertise and years of face to face experience as a management consultant. I've condensed the main themes into a one hour format, and if you wish, these sessions can also be interactive using exercises that I've often used in my seminars.

For ten years I was a principal presenter (out of 625) for The Knowledge Brokers of Dubai. This brought me many engagements in the Middle East, Africa and India. Four well known American seminar companies contracted me in for engagements the UK, Europe, Japan and elsewhere, and their rigorous, independent evaluations after every seminar state that I averaged 9.0 on a 10 point scale.
I was a founder member of the UK Professional Speakers' Association, I've a master's degree and I'm a member of various professional organisations.
I retired from travelling after a climbing accident. My talks now compensate in part for the excitement I miss.
I've lived in the Lake District for many years. Now I write novels, short stories and plays, and I produce online business webinars for different websites. My books are all available on Amazon in various formats, and I've also recorded my own work, and that of over a dozen authors, for Amazon Audible.
In addition to my talks focused on my creative writing, I'm happy to offer customised presentations and workshops on a wide range of more demanding soft skills areas.
