About Clive Goddard

Hello, I’m Clive Goddard, an Oxford based professional cartoonist and award-winning children’s author and illustrator based. I have been living off what are generally considered to be ‘my wits’ since the 1990s and have been published by everyone from Private Eye and The Spectator to Playboy and Reader's Digest. I draw greeting cards for Paperlink and the cover art for Mystery Guides as well as numerous unglamorous things for business and private clients.

Since 2018 I have been the chair of the UK's Professional Cartoonists' Organisation (PCO) and have organised exhibitions, live events, the Cartoon Awards and the Great British Colouring Book for refugee charities and children.

For adults I can offer a fun and informative illustrated talk / slideshow which lasts for about an hour with time for Q&A. It's called 'How to be a cartoonist' but is really just an insight into earning a living in the weird world of funny drawings.

For schools and children's groups (key stage 2) I have an illustrated talk on my comedy adventure novels centred around 'Fintan Fedora the World's Worst Explorer' and how my own epic travel disasters inspired me to create the character and write the series.
