A single parent before they invented the term, I steered a varied life, flew for the first time at 40, first trip abroad - Monte Carlo and the Loews Hotel as it was then - you know the one with the tunnel the Grand Prix goes through.

Redundant at 56, I returned to my beloved Norfolk but actually retired at 87 as I don't count volunteering at Oxburgh that I still do, as working.
