The move from film to electronic cameras had both technical and operational challenges. It required a change in the roles of the teams and a new infrastructure to handle the stories. The former was at least as challenging as the second. To the point that during a training session for NBC in Washington a cameraman had a stroke because he couldn't cope with the new technology. Not a common experience in my lecturing career. The use of iPhone content creation seems so easy now but they rely on the infrastructure of the early, rather cumbersome systems.
