About Martyn Hayes

Martyn Hayes began his theatrical career working backstage in various West End theatres and then as a production carpenter, a production electrician, and a stage manager. He was a Production Manager at The National Theatre and The English National Opera and then, amongst numerous West End and touring productions, he production managed the original West End productions of "Les Miserables" and "The Phantom of the Opera." He then had his own management company Martyn Hayes Associates, where Martyn production managed the original West End production of "Aspects of Love", and collaborated on productions with Franco Zeffirelli, Sir George Martin, and Sir Anthony Hopkins. He has been Head of International Productions for The Really Useful Theatre Company in London where he worked on many of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musicals overseas and on the Broadway play "La Bete" which was nominated for five Tony Awards and with the London production winning The Olivier Award for Best Comedy. He was Manager of International Productions for Disney Theatricals in Los Angeles, and Associate Producer for Stage Entertainment in Amsterdam. He was appointed Managing Director of Stage Entertainment’s London operation and co-produced the West End musical "Contact." He was then Executive Producer of the musical "Dirty Dancing" in London, Canada, the Netherlands, and Germany. He is currently an independent producer and originated and co-produced the West End production of the play "Dear Lupin" starring James Fox and Jack Fox and "Into the Night" a play about the Penlee lifeboat rescue, with the production winning The Offie Award for Best Online Production of 2022.
