Crossing and recrossing Belgium in an old van, Phil Drabble sets out to discover a country that, despite its small size, plays a key role on the world stage. While it may be the home of wonderful beers and chocolate, Belgium also hosts the headquarters of the European Union and NATO and is the birthplace of Rubens, Magritte, Simenon, and the greatest cyclist of all time, Eddie Merckx. Rich in cultural and linguistic diversity, and possessing a complex and sometimes bloody history, Phil invites you, in the style of the great Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, to join him in taking a closer look at this often little known country.
