I have lived-experience with both Bipolar and Anorexia and am a mental health speaker specialising in anorexia and bipolar disorder. I am the author of "Where Sunflowers Grow" and "Staying for the Sunrise" and have spoken about mental health on " The Victoria Derbyshire Show" on the radio and in schools. My work focuses on breaking stereotypes, educating others and exploring what recovery really looks like.
Views: 10 | Enquiries: 0I am a passionate speaker and advocate with a lived-experience of mental health. My focus is on Anorexia Nervosa and Bipolar Disorder. My goal is to share what these illnesses feel like from the inside and what recovery looks like in the long-term, beyond stereotypes.
My talks explore the tension between control and chaos, identity and survival, and how Anorexia and Bipolar disorder can intersect and complicate recovery. How often it seems like a balancing act, like standing in crashing waves just trying to stand still. Through honest storytelling and thoughtful reflection, I help audiences understand the emotional logic behind these conditions and the long, non-linear reality of healing. I am the author of "Where Sunflowers Grow", which details my Journey of My Anorexia and "Staying for the Sunrise", a poetry collection written from relapse to recovery.
I have previously spoken about mental health through media appearances, including interviews on The Victoria Derbyshire Show, radio broadcasts, and talks delivered in schools. I speak with care and responsibility, avoiding sensationalism while addressing difficult truths, and always centring compassion, safety, and understanding. My talks are particularly suited to young people, educators, healthcare professionals, families, and organisations seeking a deeper, more human understanding of eating disorders, bipolar disorder, and recovery.
