For nearly two years, my world was a path and a tent. Every step of the 6,500 miles around the UK’s coast taught me vital lessons; the most challenging terrain we ever cross is the landscape of our own minds. I learned to weather internal storms, navigate by the stars of my values, and find shelter in resilience I never knew I had. I raised nearly £100,000 for mental health charities during the walk, which taught me that helping others is often a great way to help yourself. My talk translates this epic journey into a roadmap your audience can use for their own lives and careers. How to adopt and develop habits that will help maintain a more grounded and balanced mindset, which will help you and those around you to live your best life.

My talk can be altered to cater to your audience, so please contact me to discuss your needs.

About Chris Jones

I’m a public speaker who shares honest, real-life stories through keynote, after-dinner, and motivational talks for social groups, businesses, and charities. I spent 12 years in the Royal Engineers, then founded and ran an independent school for disadvantaged and challenging children — something I dedicated nearly 20 years of my life to. But behind the scenes, I was burning out, I thought the business I loved was killing me. After selling the business just as Covid hit, my mental health hit rock bottom. I'd lost my identity and my purpose and I found myself in a dark place, even questioning whether life was worth continuing.

Asking for help was the turning point. Through counselling and a lot of reflection, I knew I needed a full reset. That’s when I set off on a 6,500-mile walk around the UK coastline — a journey that took nearly two years and helped me rebuild from the ground up. Living in my tent, walking each day, I met incredible people, read powerful books, and started to truly understand how and why my mental health had broken down.

Now, I share that journey with others — not just the challenges, but the tools, insights, and lessons that helped me recover. My talks are about encouraging people to look after themselves before they reach crisis point, how to recognise, reverse and recover from Burnout, showing that even in your darkest moments, there’s a way forward.

I've been married to Michelle for over 30 years, we have 3 grown-up children and 3 incredible grandchildren. I am prepared to travel all over the Uk and beyond to deliver talks, which I do while enjoying my other passion, riding my motorcycle.
