The Semi-Pro Sixties is a talk by David Caulfield based on his book of the same name. Covering a period from 1961 to 1976 he takes his audience back to the time when budding musicians were forming groups and starting to play gigs in Youth Clubs, Pubs and Clubs. He raises plenty of laughs as he tells stories of the life and times of a semi- professional musician setting out on the road for the first time. He also plays and sings songs from that very evocative period.

He was respons- ible for the successful launch of the Casio Keyboard Division and subsequent growth to the position of market leader. David also launched the Akai range of professional digital studio equipment again reaching the position of market leader.
He has played guitar since he was thirteen and still takes part in charity concerts and family functions.
These talks started after he wrote a book about his early experiences playing in groups in the sixties. As David said; “One thing lead to another and it all took off. It’s great fun giving my talks to such a wide variety of organisations. I didn’t realise that there were so many!”
