This Talk examines the amazing UK inventions that changed the world in the Industrial Revolution. From the Steam engine and the Railways, to the Jet engine that changed aviation forever and remarkable boat lifts the allow travel throughout the canal system. Around the UK many of these inventions have been awarded Heritage Plaques that celebrate the achievement.

Following graduation with a BSc (Hons) degree he subsequently worked for American-based IT organisations and European Engineering companies, in a variety of senior Management and Technology roles. He finished his full-time working career at Aston University, Birmingham, supervising Post-Graduate MSc programmes. During his career he regularly presented at International Conferences.
He has been a Chartered Engineer for over 30 years and became a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers serving on many of its committees. Following retirement he has been a regular presenter to u3a, NT and Probus groups in the Thames Valley.
