I had never read a book before the age of 50. Undiagnosed dyslexia made me feel worthless and that I had nothing to offer this world. I decided to overcome my lifelong fear of words and literature and now have 10 published books and have also set up my own publishing company. I found my absolute passion and my freedom from the shackles which held me back for so long. My message is one of hope, courage, determination and celebration of humanity and our individuality. Be proud to be you.

About John Crawshaw

Contemporary women's fiction author who had never read a book before the age of 50. Now has 10 published books. Undiagnosed dyslexia as a child affected my confidence and self-esteem to the point that I was scared of reading and writing. Following a career with nature and trees to avoid my greatest fear, I never felt I could offer the world anything. Around my 50th birthday, I woke in the middle of the night and decided to overcome the shackles that had held me back, and write a novel. Five years on, I just can't stop writing and feel worthy of a happy life. My aim is to inspire others who might feel worthless or held back and show people it is good to celebrate our differences and also be proud of who we are. I can deliver a compelling, funny and motivating speech of varying lengths to a wide range of ages and demographics.
