From Headlines to Headspace
Before I became a hypnotherapist, I spent years working in high-pressure creative environments — advertising, BBC Newsnight, and fast-turnaround design jobs where timing, insight, and persuasion were everything. I loved the craft, but not the cost. After four heart attacks and a triple bypass, I had to face a hard truth: it’s not healthy to love an industry that doesn’t love you back. So I pivoted. I chose something more human, more healing — a practice that works with the mind, not against it. Hypnotherapy doesn’t just change others — it changed me first.
So Who Is Really in Charge?
In my talk, “Who’s Really in Charge? A Glimpse Into the Unconscious,” I explore this powerful — and often surprising — part of the mind that’s running so much of our behaviour.
It’s not a dry lecture. It’s playful. Interactive. You’ll get to see demonstrations — like the one where someone thinks they’re choosing a finger… but their unconscious makes the decision before they’ve even realised. Or the moment when a forgotten name reappears not because you thought hard… but because you stopped trying.
You’ll learn:
Why imagination changes behaviour more than logic ever could How habits, fears, and even pain can be reshaped through suggestion And how the unconscious mind already knows what’s best — long before we do

He thrived in fast-paced creative environments—until his body had enough. Four heart attacks and a triple bypass later, David realised he’d spent his life mastering persuasion for others… but never listening to his own unconscious mind.
That wake-up call led him to hypnotherapy. Today, he combines hypnotherapy with storytelling flair to help others rewrite mental scripts, and create meaningful change. Expect humour, insight, and a surprising look at how your unconscious mind may already be running the show.
