A talk about one the oldest charities in the country Barnardo's.
From its humble beginings of "Ragged Schools" and children homes; a legacy from its founder Thomas Barnardo who belived that "every child deserved the best posible start in life whatever their circumstances".
The changes during the 20th century and now the challenges of the 21st century, Barnardo's continues to help children, young people, families and carers - where they are most needed.
The talk will also focus on fundraising and as well a more personal story of fostering a child (giving a child hope).

As a Community Ambassador I provide a fascinating insight into Barnardo’s through an interactive presentation/talk (whether virtual via “Zoom” or face to face), entitled “Barnardo’s a Personal Insight”, covering our history, Dr Barnardo’s legacy, our current projects and fundraising.
This insight comes through, working for the charity for 13 years in a fundrasing capacity, and during a 8 year period becoming foster carers with my partner giving me a unique understanding the charity’s work.
I have presented to audiences (6 to 750 participants) across Fundraising Dinners and Events; Rotary clubs (Including Rotary Conferences), WI, Townswomen Guild, U3A, various church societies, local community organisations and pitching to SME’s businesses.
Please feel free to contact me below for more information about speaking and fundraising opportunities. (I am available during the day and in the evening subject to any prior commitments).
