Views: 44 | Enquiries: 0Andy has been engaged in Aviation throughout his adult life. Starting in 1960 with an 18-year flying career in The Royal Air Force which included crewing the nuclear armed Avro Vulcan during the cold war.
In 1980, he took early retirement to pursue a second career in the Aviation Industry focusing on International Business Development initially working with British Aerospace in the UK before being recruited by the American giant McDonnell Douglas which then merged with the Boeing Company. His final Boeing appointment was as a Business Development Director in the Military Aircraft Division. Post retirement, he continued to work as a consultant with them and other companies until his early 70s.
Elected a Member of The Royal Institute of Navigation in 1980, a Fellow of The Royal Aeronautical Society in 2010, a Member of the American Helicopter Society in 2012 and an Upper Freeman of The Honourable Company of Air Pilots in 2013.
Andy is a very popular speaker and has a portfolio of 8 Aviation themed talks. He and his wife Jeannie both come from Air Force families and now live in Surrey where he is Vice-Chairman and Speaker Secretary of Walton & District PROBUS. His pastimes in addition to Public Speaking include Travel, Photography and proudly seeing his five grandchildren grow up but has failed to persuade any to pursue a career in aviation!
