About Colin Youngman

AN AUDIENCE WITH THE AUTHOR...My journey to the best seller list (and back down again!)

I am a self-published (by choice) author of crime novels set in the north-east of England. I have won several Kindle All-Star awards and reached number one category best seller for one of my novels. My talks generally centre around my writing journey, why I do what I do, what I get out of it, tips on how to become a writer yourself, and a question-and-answer session. I have been told my talks are informative, humorous, informal, and well-received. I can amend the talk to meet the requirements of the group (eg to talk about any specific book set in the locale of the group. I offer talks between 30 minutes to one hour based on requirements, and charge accordingly to length although I provide a free service to some charitable organisations. I afford the audience the opportunity to purchase signed copies of my works at discounted prices but there is never any pressure to buy. I have given talks to book groups, WI, u3a, library sessions and numerous book festivals.
