The bloodiest conflict since WWII is also the periods least well known.

  • 57,000 British soldiers served in Korea.
  • There were 1078 British men killed along with a further 2674 casualties.
  • 978 men were also taken prisoner by the North Koreans, living in horrendous conditions and suffering torture for three years.

This talk can give an overview of the Korean War or have a closer look at the legendary participation of the Gloucestershire Regiment at the Battle of Imjin River. A battle which to this very day is still seen by the people of South Korea the one that gave them their independence.
