About Alex Mair

I am a retired Metropolitan Police officer, I served with the Met for 27 years, 21 of which attached to special operations, I was a firearms officer with the Diplomatic Protection Group, I was a Residential Protection officer providing close protection to visiting VIPs and diplomats , I was also a Nationally qualified licenced search officer.
I was involved in the security of state visits and state occasions as a Protection officer and as a search officer was involved in every aspect of searching, crime to missing persons and anti-terrorist operations.

Now in retirement, I volunteer for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and the Royal British Legion, I research War records and local history.
