This talk is the story of my leading one of the last and one of the smallest true village schools, serving a largely rural community. This is a unique insight to a lost world. I lived in the school house, was Reader at the parish church, and frequent visitor to Lord Harris of Belmont at his grand house. The original story of a village school as 'Miss Read's' 'Village School'. This is a current take on an old story where the seasons and the land shaped the education of our pupils.
