Puns, printing and personas: A quirky look at how Oxford loves words and wordplay, from carvings and colleges to the city’s famous books, authors and characters. Oxford is a city built on words: from its centuries as home to word-loving academics, its role as a publishing centre and as home to authors and characters. This talk offers stories throughout the history of the city and its people (real and imagined), and celebrates many forms of wordplay to relish on its streets and walls. The talk is quirky and offbeat - just like Oxford.

My Blue Badge tourist guide is for the Heart of England (which covers the area between Birmingham and Gloucester) and I specialise in the Cotswolds. In fact, I've written a book about its quirky sights and stories called Offbeat Cotswolds.
Publishing this book drew on my experience writing about 70 children's books, some of them stories but mainly non-fiction, for some of the UK's top publishers. I love researching information and finding fun ways to present it - something I also did in a past role as a primary school teacher.
My talks get great feedback as being entertaining and informative.
