What it was like to live in London, over the centuries - experiencing Invasion, plague, fire and the Blitz

The Romans arrived to find a grassy marshland beside a shallow wide river. For their garrison, they used two small hills, now known as Ludgate Hill and Cornhill, and around these London grew, but it was not yet the capital. In 55 AD the Romans built the first London bridge but by 61AD it had been sacked by Queen Boudicca

After the Romans, came the Anglo Saxons, but it was still not the capital, however it kept growing and was soon one of the biggest and most cosmopolitan cities in the world (and still is)..

Most of my career I’ve been an Artist and Designer, always with a particular interest in this country's rich history: artistic, theatrical, architectural and regal.
